Question
2: Mrs. Whatsit says, "Stay angry, little Meg. You will need all your
anger now." (110). Why do you think she says this? Do you agree that anger
can be a positive emotion? Is it ever negative? Explain. Is it possible that
anger can be shown in different ways? Do we see people who are angry use their
emotions to positively empower others while others use their power to empower
others to feel bitter and destructive? (Susan B. Anthony vs. Osama bin Laden
for example)
I think Mrs. Whatsit says
to stay angry because Meg needs the anger for later. Meg also had anger so she
would not be scared. When she is angry she is not scared and she cannot be
scared. I think this is positive anger for Meg because she needs to fight “IT”
later. Also it is positive anger because she can empower others to do things.
Anger can be negative, but most of the
time it is positive. People always have anger in them, most of the time they
are mad because of others. All people must have at least one once of anger in
them. If someone does not have anger than that person is not a real person. Positive
anger can be shown to motivate people to work harder. For example, when you are
in a slump at a basketball game and you are very angry, you work harder to be
better and you score by being angry.
It is possible for anger to be shown
in different ways. It can be shown in a good way or a bad way, but that all
depends on the person showing it. Anger can power people up with a bunch of
energy to do something exciting. Also it can be a really good thing when it
gives a positive image. It can also be a really bad thing when it gives people
a negative image. Meg is a positive image when she protects her brother from “IT”,
but can’t save him at first, but tries to use anger to help him.
The anger in Meg is a good thing
because she wants to empower others. The anger in “IT” is bad because “IT” is
trying to make people feel bitter and destructive. “IT” is the bad part of
Camazotz that tries to make everyone “perfect”. Camazotz is a place where all
the people are in order. Everyone there would do everything orderly or in rhythm.
“IT”’s anger wants to be used to take over people’s minds to make the people
look like they are robots.
I like how you said "positive anger can be shown to motivate people to work harder" because I can totally relate to that. It makes you more desperate but sometimes, that's how careless mistakes sneak in. People don't realize that the more angry you are in trying to do something, the more motivation you would have in completing that task.;D
